Moving Our Bodies (MOB)

The MOB – “Moving Our Bodies” program is a unique initiative that fosters an Indigenous Cultural understanding to boost physical activity amongst our Jarjums and families. Our goal here at Gunya Meta is to aid in educating families on the significance of health and fitness and the importance of keeping active within our communities. Encompassing a diverse range of sports in tandem with Traditional games exemplifies the need for inclusivity and participation within the program.

Get Started Initiative: A designated plan to provide details regarding parents enrolling their child with the “Fair Play” or “Swim Start” vouchers. The Fair Play vouchers are for children ages 5 to 17 years, meanwhile the Swim Start vouchers are for ages 0 to 4 years. These vouchers provide up to 200 dollars worth of payments for registration and game fees. The eligibility criteria concerning these vouchers will be dispersed into the schools for parents to take the information home for the process. We want to incentivise parents to apply for these vouchers as they are beneficial for larger families, families struggling with financial hardship and allows for parents to get a head start at teaching their little Jarjums to be swim smart.
